Joint Pain and liver function?
I've got chronic hepB and now cirrhosis. I start my round of testing again next week but won't see my doc until the following week. I of course, will ask my doctor but I was wondering if anyone has had or knows if joint pain has anything to do with liver problems. I can't seem to find anything specific on the web that puts the two together.
At first I thought my fingers hurt from mowing the lawn (gripping the thingy to keep it running) but that was well over a month ago. Now I'm feeling it in my elbows, knees and ankles. I look like an old lady trying to get up in the morning!
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks! I hope everyone is having a good weekend. :)

- I may be a little late in answering to you request for info about if liver problems can cause joint pains, the answer is in some cases yes..I have a Genetic liver dis-order called Haemochromatosis which means that the liver became overloaded/Saturated with Iron which were then being passed to my joints, causing Arthritis , the treatment I receive for this liver condition is called blood-letting( a pint of blood was taken from me for a number of weeks until my Iron level reached a near normal level ) , I was having problems with my joints( Arthritis) long before anyone had Diagnosed me with Haemochromatosis ,mainly my back, Ankles Knees,Shoulder, amongst other joint problem ( especially trying to keep hold of the lawnmower motor trigger, I used to use a old plastic shower curtain hook to slip over the lever when I had the trigger in position... which I found very helpful) I was informed by my liver specialist that my Arthritis and other problems which I have were caused by my liver condition

- Thanks so much for getting back to me TexasTom! I guess I'll just have to wait until my ultrasound and b/w. I don't see my doc until 9/5 but I'm sure if it's urgent he'll contact me before that. It's probably yet another lovely symptom of a bad liver! I also have gallstones and have read a bunch of scary stuff about gallbladder cancer so I stopped researching! Sometimes too much information is NOT a good thing. You can scare yourself half to death.
Good luck with your liver problems. I've got the opposite as far as iron goes I had to have a blood transfusion a few months back.
I hope you're feeling well.
